The journey of welcoming our first child was captured by our good friend, Jayna Greenleaf-Perez Photography. Oliver Douglas is a family name: on his Daddy’s side, his Papa and “Do-Papa” (Great Grandpa) share the middle name Oliver, and Douglas is in memory of my little brother, Douglas Steven Bransom.

Never in my life would I have imagined an in-home baby shower as incredibly designed as this—basically fancier than my wedding. But it just so happened that creative friends were wanting to create a “styled photo shoot” for their portfolios, and I got to benefit from their amazing teamwork! I wish I had a great story for how we found the name Emery…but really, I saw the name advertised as the name of a curtain and I loved it. Of course, the meaning of her name fits her boldness: brave, powerful, loving and home strength. As she grows into herself, she knows no stranger!
